The weather forecast for Thursday evening is predicting rain. So we made the decision to SWAP Thursday and Friday evening socials.
Thursday, March 21st – ride on your own
Lunch and Dinner on your own. Here's a list of area restaurants.
7:00 - 8:30 PM Campfire Social - WEATHER PERMITING – if we decide to cancel the social we will make decision late afternoon and communicate by email and Facebook Coldspring Tandem Weekend.

The park has a concession stand with a limited menu. If you are a guest at WCP please ride your bike or walk to the campfire social.
*Teams not staying at WCP. You will receive a park entrance pass at the gate of WCP. Please tell them your name and that you are with the tandem group. Go to No 54 for parking instructions.
Friday, March 22nd - Only the Social changes

The Fiesta they have prepared will include plenty of food, lots of fun and great fellowship. You will have a chance to visit with old friends as well as make new friends. Team Moyer will host Single Track Ride. Road ride on your own.
What you need to know:
The registration fee for the Coldspring Tandem Weekend is $225 per team and requires that you are an active, 'paid up' member of the Houstonians on Tandems Together club. The Team HOTT club's financial model compels us to make this and future club events 'members only'. The cost of membership is $40/year, making the total cost of this event $265 for non-members.
The registration fee for the Coldspring Tandem Weekend includes Taco ‘Bout Tandem social Thursday evening, campfire social Friday evening, pancake/waffle breakfasts on Saturday and Sunday, lunch on Saturday and wine tasting Saturday evening, SAG, rest stops, scouted routes, riders’ insurance, facility and equipment rental and other misc. items.
Refunds of uncommitted funds for cancellations will be available prior to March 8th, 2024. Registration fees will not be refundable after March 8th.
- You will be on your own for lunch & dinner on Friday and dinner Saturday.
- March 23rd is Coldspring “Trade Days”!
- Ride distances Saturday will range from 25 – 60 mile routes.
- Routes will be posted with a link on this web page
- Single track tandem riding or gravel riding might be new to you, but your hosts are pro’s and would love to share a local trail with you!
- Please come with your tandem in good mechanical condition.
- House of Tandems will be available for roadside mechanical assistance (SAG) (see back of name badge for contact info). If you have a medical emergency please call 911.
- Lodging and RV or camping details are below. Lodging or RV/camping is at your expense.

2024 Coldspring Tandem Weekend - we will be camping at Wolf Creek Park
We will NOT be using Double Lake Recreational Area this year. The NFS is planning to close Double Lake for renovations in January 2024 and while they promise to have it available in time for the event, we don’t want to risk the possibility that the renovations aren’t completed in time. Allen has booked camping at Wolf Creek for everyone that had previously reserved a Double Lake site with him for the 2024 event. Allen also has a few uncommitted campsites at Wolf Creek Park reserved. If you wish to camp there, please call Allen (409-898-0696) before booking a site online.
