From road cycling to gravel riding, the surrounding Ozark Mountains create the perfect backdrop for a tandem rally. With over 100 miles of paved and single-track trails accessible from the city center, Fayetteville boasts an extensive trail network featuring a variety of experiences for cyclists of all abilities. From the family-friendly Razorback Greenway to the purpose-built mountain bike trails at Centennial Park, the toughest decision may be deciding what bike to ride. Thursday, Sept 28th
Hank and Roxanne Thiess, your hosts for the weekend, invite you to join them at their favorite Brewery – Crisis Brewery. Please come enjoy a local brew, visit with friends, and pick up your rally packet.

Friday, Sept 29th
Calling all tandem mountain bikers! For those of you that would like to get in a loop or two on your mountain bike tandem there is a 5-mile single track loop at Lake Fayetteville 1.5-miles down the bike trail from your hotel parking lot.
Early afternoon – The Wine Ride – riders will depart from the Fairfield Inn and Suites parking lot and ride to the Sassafras Springs Vineyard & Winery. 2 route lengths will be offered. Tasting and snacks will be served.
Roll to Dinner – dinner on your own – Ride your tandem from your hotel on a well-lit bike path to Dickson Street, downtown 4.3 miles where Experience Fayetteville valets will secure your tandem while you stroll through downtown searching for that perfect place for dinner.
Saturday, Sept. 30th
Morning Tandem Parade from Fairfield Inn and Suites to Dickson Street.
3 route options one of which will be gravel.
Lunch will be served along the route at Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park. Enjoy the unique history of this Civil War battlefield.
Dinner at the First National Bank of Fayetteville (3553 N. Steele Blvd). This unique venue is just a few blocks from the host hotels. We are excited to have NW Arkansas’s Yeyo’s serving their famous street tacos with GF and vegetarian options, all served from their amazing food truck. Beer, wine and nonalcoholic beverages will be served.
Sunday, Oct. 1st
Morning Ride start from parking lot of the Fairfield Inn and Suites.
3 route options.
Road Ride - to JB Hunt Ozark Highland Nature Center, 30 Mile MTB Trail or (if you are staying an extra day) - 50 miles to Crystal Bridges in Bentonville and back.
Rally concludes – If you need late checkout, check with your hotel.
What you need to know:
The registration fee for the Fayetteville Tandem Rally is $250 per team and requires that you are an active, 'paid up' member of the Houstonians On Tandems Together club, in order for you to be covered by the club's insurance. The cost of membership is $40/year per team, making the total cost of this event $290 for non-members. The registration fee includes wine tasting and snacks on Friday, lunch, and dinner on Saturday, SAG, rest stops, scouted routes, facility and equipment rental and other misc. items. Refunds of uncommitted funds for cancellations will be available prior to September 1st, 2023.
- You will be on your own for lunch on Friday and dinners on Thursday and Friday.
- Ride distances on Friday will be 25-40 miles; Saturday will range from 25-62 mile routes and Sunday will be 20+ depending on terrain option selected.

- Single track tandem riding might be new to you, but your hosts are pro’s and would love to share a local trail with you!
- Hotel lodging and RV details are below. Lodging or RV/camping is at your expense.
A block of rooms is available at the following hotels. Host hotels include complimentary breakfast, and the tandems are allowed in rooms. Both hotels have limited inventory. Please once you have registered for the tandem rally, make your hotel reservation. See below for details.
